Paediatrician and Allied Health for Maitland Families

Hunter Children's Clinics serves families across the Maitland area, including Maitland, East Maitland, Rutherford, Thornton and the surrounding growth corridor. We do not have a clinic in Maitland itself: families attend our Merewether or Carrington clinics in person, or use telehealth.

Travelling from Maitland

Carrington is generally the more direct option for Maitland families, reachable via the New England Highway. Our Newcastle directions page explains where to park at each clinic. If you are coming from further out in the growth corridor, allow extra time, particularly during school pick-up and drop-off periods.

In person or by telehealth

Many reviews can be done by telehealth, which suits busy families in a fast-growing area well for routine follow-ups. Initial assessments are usually done in person. You can read about how telehealth works on our telehealth page.

Our multidisciplinary services

Maitland families can access general and developmental paediatrics, autism assessment, ADHD assessment and care, psychology, occupational therapy, speech pathology and dietetics, all working together as one team.

How to book

New paediatric patients need a valid GP referral before an appointment can be booked. Once your GP has sent a referral, please call us on 02 4072 1877 to arrange an appointment at Merewether or Carrington, or to ask about telehealth. See our fees and referrals page for more detail.
