Occupational Therapy Services
Paediatric Occupational Therapists work with children and their families to develop their skills to participate in activities that are important to them, as well as completing tasks they need to do or are expected to do.
Hunter Children's Clinic Occupational Therapy team can help children build their skills in the following areas:
- Sensory Processing
- Self-care skills - dressing, sleep, toileting, showering/bathing
- Gross motor skills
- Fine motor skills
- Handwriting
- Regulation - energy, emotion, or energy regulation
- Executive functioning
- School participation
- Understanding and navigating differences in play and social interaction styles
- Cancer care
As part of a multidisciplinary team, our Occupational Therapists can liaise with HCC paediatricians, psychologists, speech therapists, and dieticians to provide the best possible support for children and their families.
