Dr Madhuri (Maddy) Balakrishna completed her medical degree at the University of New England/University of Newcastle, and completed her paediatric training across the Hunter New England and Sydney Children's Hospital networks.

Maddy enjoys all areas of general paediatrics, but has a particular interest in looking after babies and helping to manage their health concerns such as prematurity, chronic medical conditions, and difficulties with growth.

Maddy was born in India, grew up in New Zealand, and has lived and worked in many different places around Australia. She returned to Newcastle in 2020 and lives here with her husband and two young children.

Maddy enjoys cooking, travellin, and spending time with her friends and family.
